Before scrubbing your feet you can soak it in a homemade foot soak. Given below is the foot soak recipe.

The Secret Of Long, Healthy Fast Growing Nails

A good impression is always assured when you have well groomed nails. Nail growth is sometimes a struggle. Here are some handy tips to acquiring healthy and beautiful nails quickly.

Thing You Require:-

1.Salt and boiled water.
2.Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle cream from Burt.
3.Manicure set.
4.Soft gel capsules of Vitamin E.
5.Nail polish called ‘Hard as a Nail’ from Sally Hansen.

Steps:-

1.Do not chip or bite your nails. The overall unattractive appearance and slow growth of your nails could be due to this habit. Additionally chipping your nails could cause them to break.

2.Prepare a bath of salt water for the nails. Daily or every other day at bedtime, prepares a bath of salt water to immerse your nails. Pour in 2 tsp of salt into boiled water, stir and immerse your hands when water is lukewarm. Salt provides nourishment for nails strengthens and speeds up growth.

3.When you have immersed your hands in the salt water for ten or fifteen minutes, take out your manicure set. Remove the cuticles. Take care that you don’t cut in to the bed of your nail. Use a nail buffer to remove any unevenness and buff the rest of the cuticle. A nail file can be used to either round or square the shape of your nails.

4.When you have completed this procedure, make an application of Burt’s Bees Butter Lemon Cuticle Cream. A great product, this provides nourishment to the nails. You must be sure to massage and rub the cream in to the nails for a little while, which aids in the rapid growth of nails. Break open a soft gel capsule of Vitamin E, apply the oil into your nails and massage in.

5.Keep a nail file and buffer in your handbag to use in case you chip or break a nail so that you can prevent further peeling or breaking. After hand washing always dry the hands. Wet hands allowed to dry on their own will cause your nails to dehydrate and result in peeling.

Keep Nail Polish Thin

1.
Put four or five drops of nail polish thinner in the bottle when the polish becomes too thick to apply evenly. Nail polish remover will not work for this purpose. There should be a nice, small drop of nail polish on the end of the brush when it is thin enough.
2.
Store nail polish in a cool, dry place. Keeping nail polish in the refrigerator, which many women seem to do, actually makes it harder and thicker. Even when it is removed and allowed to return to room temperature, the chemicals may be so changed that you will not get a nice, even coat from the nail polish.
3.
Toss nail polish after about two years. Be realistic about the longevity of your favorite colors. While a certain color may go out of fashion for a few years, don't hang onto it thinking it will be back in style some day. Nail polish is unusable after some time.
4.
Handle your bottles of nail polish gently. Shaking the various colors before applying only make bubbles in the polish and can make it more difficult to apply. The thicker coloring that settles in the bottom of the bottle can be mixed by holding the bottle between your hands and gently massaging it. Turn the bottle upside down once, then upright.

Home Nail Art

Nail art can be a fun and interesting way to spice up your look. You can coordinate it to match your outfit for a special event, or wear it every day. You can do your own nail art at home with some practice and patience. Here’s how to create your own unique nail art:
1.Make sure you have healthy nails:-
If your nails are damaged and not well shaped, then it will be difficult to create nail art on them. Wait until your nails are healthy and long enough to be shaped correctly before trying to paint nail art on them.
2.Buy the right products:-
To make nail art, you’ll need to buy nail paints and polishes. You should experiment with different types to figure out which ones you like best. You can even try acrylic craft paints. You can buy special nail art kits, or you can use household tools like toothpicks, bobby pins, and thin-tipped paintbrushes. You can paint nail art on your natural nails, or apply artificial tips first. Also make sure you have nail polish remover, as well as a small brush or Q-Tips to selectively apply the polish remover.
3.Come up with ideas:-
You can look around online or in books, or come up with your own creations. Start simple if you’re just beginning; difficult designs can be frustrating if you can’t apply them correctly.
4.Apply a base coat:-
Before drawing designs on your nails, give them a base coat. This can be clear, neutral, or any other color, depending on the look you want. You can also divide your nail into 2 or 3 different colors, or do alternating colors on different nails. Allow it to dry thoroughly before trying to draw designs on it.
5.Start drawing:-
Pick a tool and a color of nail paint, and start drawing designs. You can try dots, lines, flowers, or any other design. You can marble the colors by dragging a toothpick through two dots of different colors. Start with something simple to practice. Often, simple designs look better than busy designs anyways. If you don’t want the colors to blend, let each color dry before moving on to the next color. Use different brushes or tools for each color, or clean them thoroughly between colors
6.Apply jewels:-
If you like, you can also buy jewels and stickers from a craft store or anywhere selling nail supplies. Just press these into your wet polish. Keep in mind that small jewels will adhere better than larger ones. You can also dust your wet nails with glitter, or apply it with a small brush to specific places on our nail.
7.Protect your art:-
Once the nail art is dry, use a clear topcoat to seal it. Treat your nails with care, and avoid doing anything that will chip them.

Nail art is simple to do, making it an easy way to make your nails unique. You can draw practically anything, in any color, on your nails. Experiment with the tools and colors available, and have fun!

Keep your manicure looking great

1.Start with freshly manicured nails, either by a salon or do it yourself. The very next day apply a thin coat of clear polish to each nail. Be sure it dries thoroughly before doing anything to smudge them. The next day apply another thin coat of the clear polish.

2.The very next day apply another. If by then you get a little snag or rough edge use the buffer to smooth it before the clear polish. Continue to apply a thin coat of clear each day. If you tear a nail or one splits, buff it lightly, apply a tiny amount of nail glue

3.After the glue dries, buff it to make it smooth, then apply another coat of clear polish. Continue with the daily coat of polish for 10 days. You may be able to make it a few days longer, however , I found that by the 10th day the cuticle area needs a little work, and I'm tired of that shade of polish.

Tips

  • If you would like to change shades during these days, apply your new shade over the top of the old shade and leave off the clear until the next day.
  • You also can apply the colored polish each day instead of the clear. The clear is just more "mistake proof".

Home manicure

Keep your hands looking great with these at-home manicure tips

Taking care of your hands is important as well as easy.Even those who think that they have no time for such treatments, can manage to take out about 5 minutes from their busy schedule, and pay some attention to those poor, neglected hands.

To make your hands look pretty as well as well-kept, start with manicure. It takes about 15 minutes, and once a week is quite enough.Once your hands are manicured, all you need is a little natural oil to keep it moisturised.

Things You Require:
For your manicure, take a small bowl of warm, soapy water.A small hand towel, a nail file, cotton wool, coconut oil for moisturising, nail polish remover, and polish. It is much nicer to prefer pink and pearlised shades, for the daytime.Nail polish is best applied before you go to bed so that you do not have to worry about badly kept nails in the morning.Purple, violet and other dark shades, are a bit too extreme for formal dressing, but if you find that they suit your personality, as a lady with a mind of her own, please go ahead! After all, individual tastes, differ.

Manicure Steps:
1.
First, remove your older nail polish and then file your nails.Long nails are best suited to people with long slim fingers, and if you have short, sturdy singers, please make sure that your nails are shaped to an oval, and not more than 1/16 th of an inch past the fingertip.
2.
Next, soak your hands in the soapy water, for 2 minutes.Press back the cuticles, very gently with your towel. They are very delicate, and need moisturising. To remove any soap deposit, wipe your nails again with nail polish remover.
3.
Apply a base coat, beginning with the thumb.Base coats are normally transparent nail polishes, which are either strengtheners, or just present to stop the chemical products of the nail polish, to yellow your nails.
4.
After it has dried, apply nail polish.Use only 2 light coats, allowing the first to dry completely before applying the second.
5.
Finally, when the polish is completely dry, massage the coconut oil/ Almond oil/ olive oil into your hands up to the wrist.

Tips
  • A manicure once a week keeps your hands feeling good.As it is always preferable to use natural products, rather than expensive creams and moisturisers, go back to nature and every night, use a bit of milk cream, or milk as a natural moisturiser.A little bit of salt added to it will bleach your hands beautifully.
  • Remember that very hot and very cold water is disastrous for hands.Make sure, the water is at room temperature. In the winters, it is always preferable to wash your face and hands in cold water, to keep the naturally moisturising oil in, but make sure, you apply some oil after a wash.

Common Nail Problems

1.
Brittle Nails: Brittle nails and flaking of nails are very common due to excessive dryness of the nail plate. The nail plate is made up of dead keratin cells held together by a natural glue of fats and water.Any loss of fats and water causes the cells to separate and results in flaking and brittleness of the nails.
a.Many of our domestic chores remove the natural fats from the nails resulting in brittle nails, so do wear gloves.
b.Nail polish removers also have a dehydrating effect. If you have brittle nails avoid removing your nail polish too frequently. You can use a colourless polish or a base-coat or a top-coat, because then you can keep touching it up quite happily, without having to use the remover very frequently.
c.Regular massage around the nail-base with cream can have a good effect on brittle nails.
2.
Hangnails:Hangnails are tears in the skin of the nailfolds and the cuticle. The cuticle and the nailfolds have a tendency to stick to the nail plate as it grows forward; the stretched cuticle may eventually tear.Sometimes the skin of the nailfolds also cracks, particularly if it is dry.Nervous nail biting habits, chewing nails, and picking the cuticle all encourage the developement of hangnails.
a.To avoid such conditions, keep the cuticles soft by massaging in creams and regularly loosening it from the nail-plate.
b.Clip off existing hangnails.
c.Avoid pulling off slivers as this can be very painful and can even cause infection of the nail folds.
3.
In-Growing Toe-Nails:If the toenail is not cut properly, it penetrates into the nail-fold as it grows, causing redness, swelling and pain.
a.Don't cut them too short.
b.Don't ever cut down the side of the nail.
c.Always follow the shape of the toe.
d.Once the pain has started, try to push the nail-fold away from the sharp edge of the skin.
4.
Fungal Infections Of The Nail:When fungus infects the nails, they become thickened, broken and discoloured.Fungal infection can be easily treated- griseofulvin is given for milder infection and ketoconazole for more severe types-but let your doctor treat you.

More Nail Knowledge

After a manicure/pedicure, keep hands and feet above the water line if you have a bath that night. Submerging newly painted nails in hot water encourages peeling and dramatically reduces the life of a manicure.

Cold air sets nail polish fast. IF you hairdryer has a cold setting, give freshly painted nail a blast with the nozzle for a couple of minutes on each hand.

The best time to push back cuticles is after a shower, when they’re nicely softened. Use the corner of a towel.

If you want to nice nails, be nice to them.

All about Nails

  1. Use a nail file as if you were playing the violin slowly, using the whole length of the file in long smooth strokes, never in a sawing motion.
  2. The perfect nail is strong but flexible. Massage oil into the nails on a daily basis, and only use nail hardeners for a very short time or they will make them too brittle.
  3. Use ten to twelve strokes to cover the nail with polish. Most people think they can get away with three.
  4. The secret of a long lasting manicure is to “Seal” the tips, painting over them with base, varnish and top coat. And even on the underside of the nail, if it extends far enough from the top of your finger.
  5. Redo your top coat two days after you have your manicure, then, three days later, add a new coat of color all over the nail, followed by top coat. Repeat that pattern and your manicure should last at least a week to 10 days.
  6. Don’t use nail varnish remover more than once a week. It’s too drying. And always look for a formula that’s acetone-free.
  7. Exercise your fingers just as you would the rest of your body. Stretch and tap them. It boosts blood flow and improves nail health.
  8. Keeping your nails all one length looks best. Even if that means cutting them all down when one nail snaps. It actually creates the illusion of length.
  9. The shape of your nail tip should echo the natural shape of your nail base. If the base of your nail is square, a square tip will look best.
  10. Every six weeks, clip all you nails just like hair, nails get split ends. It encourages them to grow.

Easy Way To Paint Your Nail

1.
First, remove any existing nail polish completely so your nails are clean and dry; don't throw away the cotton pad/ball with polish remover on it just yet.

2.
Moisturize your hands. This prevents stray nail polish from adhering to your skin--unfortunately, it also prevents it from adhering to your nail, so once you've moisturized, swipe the nail polish remover over the nails again to remove excess oil.

3.
Next, apply the base coat. Go with the cheapest stuff for this, and a very thin layer is fine; it just protects your nails against color bleeding.

4.
Apply a thin layer of nail polish over the base coat. Placing the brush about half-way down your nail, push downward (which fans the bristles out) until you almost touch your nail bed. Then reverse and sweep upward. Apply to each nail.

5.
Next, apply a second coat to the nails. Start by sweeping the brush horizontally across the top of your nails--this essentially creates a blunt edge of polish and helps prevent chipping. If you accidentally paint some skin, that's ok; we'll take it off in a second.

6.
After the horizontal sweep, repeat number 4 to each nail, paying attention to creating a smooth even surface. Don't apply more than two coats; it takes much longer to dry and often bubbles.

7.
Once your nails look perfect, wait for a few minutes and then go over your hands with the polish remover soaked Qtip, removing any excess smudges or paint.

8.
Using either your base coat or a separate clear top coat, apply a very thin layer to the top of your nails. Presto! You're gorgeous.
